The Emblem of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division, abbreviated to S.H.I.E.L.D., is an international espionage and secret military law-enforcement agency on Earth, often dealing with superhuman threats. It was formed by Howard Stark after the Second World War and Hydra 's believed defeat. In the Winter Soldier it is revealed that Hyra was not wiped out and that Hydra Agents have infultrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and these Agents (headed by Alexander Peirce) attemp to kill Director Fury. The rest of the world is wittness to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s downfall and the remaining Agents are forced to go into hiding. But S.H.I.E.L.D. is on the mend and is well on its way to being trusted again.
